Message from the President
Dear brothers and sisters,
On behalf of the “All Bamileke Group”, also known as the Association of Bamilekes in Atlanta (ABA), I want to thank you for being a part of this very dynamic association. ABA is one of the greatest and most respected Cameroonian Cultural Groups in Georgia. Your decision to be a part of this community is a testimony of the love you have for your Bamileke brothers and sisters even when you are far away from your motherland. We are able to come together today as a family under the banner of ABA because of the foresight and hard work of the founders of this association, who had the wisdom to bring the sons and daughters of the Bamileke land together.
ABA was founded in part as a vehicle for the preservation and promotion of the proud cultural heritage of the Bamileke people of Cameroon. As stewards of the Bamileke Culture in Georgia, USA, we have a responsibility to uphold our cultural values as well as teach the younger generations what it means to be Bamileke. Another fundamental element of the founding of ABA was the aspect of unity and solidarity among Bamilekes in Georgia. On this front, ABA has kept to its roots, because until today, our association remains a family association. We are a community of people who care about each other, and care deeply about our brothers and sisters in the West Region of Cameroon.
Over the years, many people have made significant contributions to lead and support this association in various ways that have helped propelled ABA to a household name in our community. I am grateful to each and every one who has enriched this association through direct leadership roles or other forms of contributions. Such sacrifices have been the engine that has thrusted ABA to continuously prosper since its creation. As ABA continues to grow, we need to redouble our efforts and continue to work in unity to strengthen the association as well as maintain its reputation and respect in our community.
I implore everyone to work together in harmony to enhance our effectiveness and make ABA a better association for all of us and for posterity.
May peace, love, and solidarity reign in ABA.
Eric N. NJUNGWE.
President of ABA.
